Mercedes Cove Wild Gubinge is an owner operated ethical Aboriginal business. We are a founding member of the Northern Australia Aboriginal Kakadu Plum Alliance (the Alliance). All our trees are located within our community and all our staff members are from our community.

Gubinge / Kakadu plum
Gubinge / Kakadu Plum fruit has been internationally recognized as a “superfood”. The fruit is used medicinally because of its high Vitamin C content, in cosmetics and as a natural preservative amongst other applications. Gubinge has many names, like Kakadu Plum, billygoat plum or salty plum. Its Latin name is Terminalia Ferdinandiana.

Our unique netting technology is gentle on the trees, ensures even and standardised fruit quality.
At Mercedes Cove we begin preparing for the harvest of our wild Gubinge/Kakadu Plum in November ready for distribution and sale in Jan/Feb. We have easy access to 200 wild Gubinge trees in and around the community.
